Welcome to the Blogosphere!

treasureWhat is a Blog?

A blog (short for weblog), is sort of like an electronic journal published on an ongoing basis. The blogger (that's you!) creates journal entries called posts. The posts are published on the Web for others to read. Readers can choose to comment on the posts or link to them. There are many different types of blogs, including commercial or nonprofit, educational (like the one for this assignment), and personal. There are thousands upon thousands of blogs in the world, on any topic you care to investigate. For a better explanation, watch the Blogs in Plain English video from CommonCraft.

Your Challenge

For this assignment, you will be posting to this blog: http://sumlissample.blogspot.com/

We have set up a Google account for each of you. Your teacher or the librarian will provide you with your username and password. Please keep your password secret so that no one else can post to the blog pretending to be you! Follow the assignment guidelines on the Your Challenge tab. This blog will not be made public, to protect the privacy of our students. Comments will be moderated by the teacher and librarian.
