Where are the Facts? Making Use of Non-Fiction Resources
Description:
This literacy based lesson was created for third grade students to practice using non-fiction resources for the purpose of identifying and extracting factual information. Focusing on the features of non-fiction, informational text, students will differentiate between fiction and non-fiction. They will browse non-fiction resources to gather factual information pertaining to a self selected topic. Working in pairs, students will list five interesting facts found in their search. Students will then, give a brief oral presentation of their gathered facts.
