Edgar Allan Poe's Tell- Tale Heart is meant to be used as a read aloud by the librarian to enhance listening comprehension skills and to have an understanding of how a writer's work is influenced by events in his/her life. The students will research Poe's life to ascertain what events in his life may have influenced his short story. The students will work in groups and present their findings in a power point presentation, a written report or give an oral presentation. This lesson can be used as an introduction to a mystery unit and will require at least three periods of instruction
