Holocaust PPT presentations

Instruction / Activities:

The classroom teacher will introduce and assign readings in The Boy in Striped Pajamas.

The TL will use the PPTs to introduce The Holocaust and give a visual tour of Auschwitz. Using primary sources (predominantly photographs), the TL will guide students through drawing educated conclusions about what the photographs are showing them.

The students will then use these skills to apply their knowledge to new sources, analyzing their content to determine what they believe is happening and why it is happening. They will also be able to compare the sources to the events in The Boy in Striped Pajamas to determine how accurate a depiction of Auschwitz Concentration Camp the novel gives its readers.
