Art from the Artist's Perspective

Description:
Students will research an artist of their choice in order to create a presentation about their artist. The presentation will include biographical information, a description of the artist's style, examples of their work as well as a piece of art created by the student done in the style of their chosen artist.
Goals & Objectives:

 

 

Students will use research to determine how particular artists and artworks influence personal art works.

Materials & Sources:

~Students will use selected, pre-approved websites and databases in order to research their artist. 

~Presentations can be in the form of a poster, PowerPoint presentation, brochure, tri-fold display or any additional forms that have been pre-approved by the teacher.

~Materials used for the student's example of the artist's style are up to the student.  They may choose from a variety of mediums such as charcoal, paint, clay, oil pastel, textile/weaving, pen and ink, etc.

~Materials used for the student's example of the artist's style are up to each individual student.  The students should choose a material that their artist is known for.  They may choose from a variety of mediums such as charcoal, paint, clay, oil pastels, textiles,weaving, pen and ink, etc.

Assessment:
Students will first complete the rubric by assessing themselves, and then I will grade them on the same criteria.
