Objectives:
The student will be able to cite a resource.
The students will use the District prepared sheets to organize their research.
Create word strips with the components of each citation. (see supporting files)
Gather five different resources, to use as an example of each type of resource.
Use a sample bibliography page.
Create or make available worksheets for students to take notes.
(see supporting files)
Lead discussion about plagiarism and bibliographies.
Explain and hand out district format for bibliography.
Invite students to help create example bibliography entries using the word strips and district guidelines.
Using the resources gathered have students look for the information that belongs in the citation from each resource. Write the information from the resource on the wordstrip.
Explain and pass out District note taking sheets. These sheets will help students keep track of their research and cite sources appropriately.
