This lesson is meant to help high school students choose and enjoy a book. Many students, when given a reading project, decide what book they will read by trying to figure out which one is shorter. But do they end up liking the book? Or enjoying the read at all? In many cases no. This lesson helps them look at other qualities of the book and encourages them to choose a book that will fit their interests. Then, yes, they have to read it. After reading the book they will have a chance to tell others about their opinion of the book and have a chance to decide whether or not to incorporate the book into the library's collection.
