Procedures:

Students are asked to consider study skills and information resources for classes.  Teacher introduces the concept of curriculum website for class.  Handouts, notes are uploaded for easy access for review, absence or obtaining extra copies.
Next, the teacher asks students to locate the “online academy” icon on the launcher window.  He/she also explains that each student has been assigned a login ID and password.  It is the student’s responsibility to retain this information in a secure place.  Students should attempt to login and then signout and repeat login for accuracy.

The teacher gives an overview of the website contents. The students are given a handout which lists information which can be found on the website.  Using the navigation bar and links, the students should locate the information and complete the worksheet.  Students who complete this early are asked to either work with another classmate or look over the curriculum site to make suggestions for adding content or ease of navigation.
Assessment:
- Students will share their findings at the end of the period, which will inform the teachers as to the students’ understanding of the task.
- All work produced from this task (using Web site, completing worksheet) will show the ability of the students to use the information literacy skills.
