The China Postcard Lesson (Video Clip)
Description:
The LMS, Jennifer Skilton, describes how she used the content being taught in the first grade class, a unit on China, to introduce students to their very first project in the library. The end product is a postcard students create for their teacher as if they are writing home from China. Information skills include locating and extracting information from a single page of information. This project generates a great deal of enthusiasm on the part of the first graders.
