Twisting Task

Your task is to try your hand in a new creative writing assignment!   You will choose a classic fairy tale and read it.   Then, write your own twisted tale based on the characters and events from the fairy tale you chose.

Under Tales to Consider is a list of fairy tales to start with, and a worksheet that will remind you of the elements of a fairy tale and guide you in taking notes.

Remember, the elements of a fairy tale from your lesson with your Teacher Librarian:

1.  special beginning or ending words, such as "once upon a time" and "happily ever after".

2.  good character

3.  evil character

4. number 3 or 7 used for number of characters or events

5.  royalty, castle may be in story

6. magic element

7.  problem and solution  

8. don't usually include a fairy!
