Information Task

 

 

Your task is to access several different Internet resources and extract information relating to your Thirteen Colonies research project. This will enable you to become familiar with navigating websites for research purposes.

 

Your mission is to find out what life was like in the Thirteen Colonies. You will use the websites listed under the Resources button to search for information.  You will then record the information on your research charts. Extra copies can be found by clicking on the Research Chart button.

 

Research Tips

Some things you might want to think about while doing your research:

 

  1. What present-day states are located in the Thirteen Colonies?
  2. What were important events that occurred in the Thirteen Colonies?
  3. Who were the important people or groups in the Thirteen Colonies?
  4. What did those people do for fun? What kind of activities did they do or games that they played?
  5. How did they live? What kinds of houses did they have?
  6. What were their families like?
  7. Did they go to school? For how long? If they did not, why not?
  8. Was religion very important? Was there one religion or more than one? How did they practice their religion?
  9. What kinds of jobs did they have?
  10. How did they make money?
  11. What kind of money did they have?
  12. What kinds of natural resources did they have?
