Description:

This lesson is set up to help students with the research process. It teaches the students not only what the best way to find information is but also how to evaluate whether the information is accurate and useful to their project. On the first day we start with a discussion on what is the best way to do research, they learn about how to do research using the school database and EBSCO to find articles. On the second day they learn how to evaluate a web site, go through a tutorial, and practice what they have learned by evaluating a web site on their research topic. On the last day we start with plagiarism and why the students need to properly cite the materials they use, and they will practice writing citations for a book, article, and web site. These skills are essential for students to be successful with any research projects.
