Description:

Students in a K-12 Catholic Religious Education class will quiz members of their church about topics being covered in the class. They will tabulate, analyze, graph and present the results.

Goals & Objectives:

Given 1 class period, the students will create a quiz covering topics from their class for the members of the parish.   The quiz will score proficient or better on the rubric.

 

Given 1 Mass and one or 2 class periods, the students will administer the quiz to the members of the parish, and tabulate, analyze, graph and create a presentation of the results scoring proficient or better on the rubric.

Materials:

Instructor will provide acceptable quiz topics, and reference resources.

 

The students will need access to the parish, a copier and printer, Microsoft Excel, and presentation creation software.

Procedures:

During the first class period, the students will create questions from the list of acceptable topics and reference materials proivided. 

 

During Mass the next week, the students will hand out the quizes to parishioners entering the sanctuary.  They will collect the completed quizes after Mass.

 

During the next class period after the quizes have been taken, the students will tabulate, analyze and graph the results.  They will incorporate the graphs into a presentation.  

 

The results will be presented at eh next parish bbrunch.

Assessment:

Students will be graded on grammar, accuracy of questions, appearance of the quiz, accuracy of tabulation and graphing and appearance of the presentation.
