Description:

Discuss basic copyright issues as they apply to middle school teachers.

Goals & Objectives:

List and discuss the most common copyright and fair use issues that a middle school teacher will encounter.  At the end of the lesson, the teacher will be able to apply fair use tests to everyday applications.

Materials:

Big Guns power point presentation developed by the group.

Simpson, C. (2005). Copyright for schools : A practical guide (4th ed.). Worthington, Ohio: Linworth Books.

Pre and post tests.

Procedures:

Complete the pretest.  View the copyright portion of the power point.  Discuss the scenarios as needed.  Complete the post test.

Assessment:

Ask each student what she would do for a series of give scenarios.
