Students will become familiar with an almanac. They will discover the types of information available in one and be able to access that information.
Goal: The student will become familiar with the variety of information found in an almanac.
Objective:
Class set of World Almanac 1997
or World Fact Book Web Site.
The teacher will introduce the almanac to the students. She will show some of the informatiuon available in it. She will demonstrate the use of the index. Then she will give each student a list of questions to answer. Students may work alone or on groups, depending on the number of almanacs available. The teacher will assist those needing it.
Assessment will be based on the number of questions answered correctly.
