A. Connection with Library Community
- Reaching Out : Beyond School Walls -- The feature article in the Winter, 2008 edition of SpotLight Digest, an online publication of S. O. S. Information Literacy, includes anecdotal examples I contributed from our library at P. S. 160. The trick is to take advantage of special events at school, and be available as a librarian for your staff as parents, in order to bring school library resources into the hands of those who need them!
- Storybook Character Day -- it is an unbeatable combination: storybook characters + elementary schoolers! Any event of this nature starts with an invitation.
- Successful Author Visits -- the entire library community benefits when authors come to call.
- Canarsie Library Newsletter-- Designed for flexibility and ease of implementation, this newsletter project was created in direct response to the needs the head librarian at Canarsie High School: library program publicity, marketing of new acquisitions and a vechicle for two-way communication with school patrons.
