Write, Write, Write!

Using your printed persuasion map as your guide, write your essay using the following format. Take the ideas you indentified on your map and develop them into full sentences and paragraphs. Your essay can have as many paragraphs as you need to fully develop your point of view, but you cannot have less than 5 paragraphs.

 

Essay Format

In your Introductory Paragraph, you

  •     Must catch the reader's interest
  •     Give a brief background of your topic
  •     End with the thesis statement

 

In your Body Paragraphs (at least 3), you

  •    Develop and support the thesis statement
  •    Include a topic sentence for each paragraph
  •    Include supporting details and facts that support your argument
  •    Include relevant quotations from the articles you read 


In your Concluding paragraph, you 

  •     Sum up your argument
  •     Leave a final comment that tell the readers what you think is important to remember     
  •     about your topic
  •     Do not introduce any new information or ideas here.
